Ilene Baxt Boorman - Shareholder

Ilene Baxt Boorman provides representation in the management and appeal of Virginia real estate tax assessments before both the administrative boards and Virginia courts. She has assisted numerous property owners in the appeal and reduction in assessed values of office, retail, industrial, hotel, multi-family, and vacant properties. Her experience includes the appeal of assessments in all Northern Virginia jurisdictions and the greater Richmond and Tidewater areas.  

Ms. Boorman has taught many seminars and written numerous articles on real estate tax valuation and the management of real estate tax assessments. She co-authored a chapter for The Property Tax Deskbook, published by The American Bar Association. The chapter is entitled "Virginia Real Property Tax." She is an Affiliate Member of the Appraisal Institute and has served on various committees of the local chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.  

Ms. Boorman also provides eminent domain representation throughout Virginia.  Some of her recent work focused on condemnation associated with takings related to the Wilson Bridge Project.   

She is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the D.C. Bar, and a former member of the American Inns of Court.  

Ms. Boorman holds a Bachelors of Business Administration with an emphasis on finance from the George Washington University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
