Eric S. Kassoff - Shareholder

Eric S. Kassoff specializes in real estate tax litigation, and has extensive experience in public finance law and zoning. He regularly appears before such administrative bodies as the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation, the Maryland Property Tax Assessment Appeals Boards, the Maryland Tax Court, and the Montgomery County and Prince George's County Planning Boards and Boards of Appeal, and has substantial litigation experience before the Montgomery County and Prince George's County Circuit Courts and the District of Columbia Superior Court.

As Maryland Department Chairman for the leading property tax firm in the area, Mr. Kassoff has had the opportunity to try several cases of first impression, many of which have established landmark law.  Since 1987, he has represented thousands of tax cases, navigating them through the complicated triennial appeal process resulting in millions of dollars worth of tax savings. 

Mr. Kassoff currently serves as Legal Counsel to the Suburban Maryland/DC Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks ("NAIOP") and is a founding member of the chapter.  He is a past chairman of the State and Local Legislative Subcommittee for National NAIOP and is a past member of NAIOP's National Board of Directors. Mr. Kassoff has served, at the request of the County Executive, as a member of the Montgomery County Office of Economic Development's Subcommittee on Infrastructure Finance.   He is a former Member of the Board of Directors for the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association ("MNCBIA").   

Mr. Kassoff is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, as well as a member of the Board of Directors for the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning. He is also former General Counsel and Member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Washington Jewish Community Center. 

Mr. Kassoff holds a B.S. degree, magna cum laude, in Finance and Accounting from Boston University and a J.D. from the Boston University School of Law. Mr. Kassoff, a native Washingtonian, is a member of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Pennsylvania Bars.
