Jeffrey G. Comen joined Wilkes Artis in 2025 as Special Advisor. He focuses on delivering consulting services to the firm as well as providing support for real estate tax appeals filed in the State of Maryland.
Prior to joining Wilkes Artis, Jeff was a member of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office. He represented Maryland’s primary real property assessing authority, the State Department of Assessments & Taxation, for over 32 years. The last eight years of his state service were spent representing Maryland SDAT as its Principal Counsel.
During his tenure with SDAT, Jeff litigated real estate tax appeals in all venues including the Maryland Tax Court and the Supreme Court of Maryland. He also serves as an adjunct instructor at Stevenson University, teaching paralegal courses on contracts, civil litigation and pleading, administrative law and business organizations.
Jeff earned his JD from the University of Baltimore in 1987. He holds a BA in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University (1984).
